"Better than expected. I use it in my backyard on my deck (with a protective barrier matt below it from amazonl, dispersed camping, and even at regular camp sites that already have rings. This thing is 90% smoke free and way easier to sit around. The only time it smokes is when first starting the fire or when it's dying out."
